What I Would Do As President
|
First the war in Iraq is over, Why? If you have to ask, you really do not have a clue.
Second, the "war on drugs is over." I want them all legal, tax the daylights out of them, national deficit will surely decrease, also we have to many stupid people in this country, you die with a syringe in your arm, you knew what was at stake. I do not feel sorry for you, survival of the fittest, weed out the weak. Though they will be legal, it will not cause a country full of drug addicts. We still have free will to use or not to. The taxes will only be put onto the buyer and not the entire country.
THESE WILL ONLY BE TAXED IN ORDER TO DECREASE THE NATIONAL DEBT! NOT FOR PROFIT
Third, prostitution is a victimless crime. It will be legal, and there will be government run brothels. All prostitutes not in a govt. brothel are to be charged with attempted murder charges. In the govt. brothels, condoms are mandatory and will be monitored. Also, every 6 months all service providers WILL have mandatory STD screenings. If it comes back showing they have ANYTHING, they are forced to retire. Also, with it being government run, again tax the daylights out of it, it will sell, the national deficit again WILL decrease. Taxes will be put onto the clients and not the entire country.

Forth, Animal testing is to be eliminated. We have countless people on death row, put them to use instead of being a financial burden on the country. I have never seen a rat with AIDS, but I have met some people with it. If we are able to cure a disease on some serial murderer, then his or her sentences will be converted to life. If he or she is not a serial killer but merely someone who made an honest mistake, he or she is free to go. Also, included will be pedophiles and other sexual predators.

Fifth, Gay Marriage is to be legal. We will no longer allow an improvable book to rule our lives and tell people they are not deserving to be happy. If you do not like gay marriage, do not have a gay wedding for yourself. We came a long way as a people and we finally are accepting interracial relationships, this is no different. Others in the past argued that that was immoral, and they were wrong just as the bigots are today.
Profile ammendmant to point number five on 2/11/2008. I have done some thinking about this and the only way to keep this issue fair is this. Marriage IS a religious ritual and idea. HOWEVER, it being a religious idea, it needs to be looked at logically. What the government gives us the right to do is acquire a civil union. NOT MARRIAGE. That is controlled by God, or whatever if anything you believe in. Allowing what the government to regulate down to strictly that concept of "civil unions" makes it fair to both the LGBT community AND the Relgious Right Community. It is 110% constitutional as it allows for all to be individuals and do what they see right for themselves. CHURCHES DO NOT have to perform ceremonies for gay couples (it would be nice though) as it is not to infringe on one persons belief it is not fair to do the same in reverse. IE... I AM AN ATHEIST, do I push that? NO!!! This is common decency and expect the same from those who do believe. IF those of the LGBT community can find a person of the cloth to do a cermony for them, AWESOME but it is not to be "demanded" of the church. Anything issued by the government will no longer be labelled as a "marriage license" or anything of that nature. It will be a document stating that both parties are eligible for the civil union. Lesbian, Gay, Straight, WHATVEVER it will be a civil union. A MARRIAGE is church granted and should be treated as such. An ammendmant to the constitution barring either a marriage OR civil union to those of the gay community would be unconstitutional. Since when do we ammend the constitution to discriminate against a part of our society? We never have and I am not about to start. IF this were the case decades ago their could have been an ammendmant barring interracial relationships. It was illegal for whites and blacks to drink from the same damn water fountain, why not ban their love for one another too? We did not make that illegal so we cannot do it to this. Makes sense to me, at least...... Noone EVER chooses who they love, it just happens. I am sure noone ever came to a fork in the road and said..."Hmmm I can be straight and have everyone accept me or go down this other road and have my right to love another human being with their consent stripped....." I am sure I never came to that fork in the road. If I did, well there was a scarecrow there who assured me that some people take both ways :)
Sixth, I am pro - life and pro - choice. PRO ADOPTION!!!! Abortion IS NOT birth control BUT, I can see openly where in cases of rape, incest or molestation . Unborn kids can feel the stress of a mother, if she is forced to carrry a child that she had no choice in the conception of, abortion may be the most humane thing to do. However with it not being a form of birth control I want to address adoption. Adoption has gotten FAR too difficult. There are countless kids with no loving home and self esteem in the pits because no one loves them. The rules are currently based upon who is rich and heterosexual. In order to adopt you must be able to prove you can economically raise a child. When I say raise a child I mean provide the necessities, love, food and shelter. Notice I did not say love, food, shelter and whatever new gadget comes on the market. We need to get back to what we all need and not trying to outdo the neighbors. If you are gay and have a life partner and want to adopt. FINE. The whole argument of gay parents raising only gay kids is stupid. If that were true then why are there gays to begin with? If that were the case then straights would only raise straight kids. This is ridiculous and will cease post haste. I would rather see a kid w/ two dads or two moms than sitting in an institution loathing him or herself.
Seventh. We WILL be a more tolerant nation and in order to do that we have to be able to look past things we may or may not like or agree with it. If you like only rap music nobody is forcing or will force you to like rock but, you do have to ACCEPT that it exists and deal with that.
Eighth, I plan to enforce a revamp on the laws regarding child abuse. I am not an advocate for beating the tar out of your kids BUT I am an advocate for spankings. Let's face it folks the timeouts DO NOT work. If they did, maybe there would be less torment. When most of us were kids none of us were diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, with Conduct disorder or whatever is hip to diagnose kids with this week. We were not handed a pill. NOPE. We were told to get our own switch, and got a swift kick in the tail and we straightened up. We got our mouths washed out with soap for cursing, not told "we do not say that with a chuckle". Time to bring discipline back and quit putting those pharmaceutical companies in charge of turning our children into mindless zombies..... When exactly did we turn into lazy parents??? Maybe if parents did more parenting and paid more attention to what their kids are doing we can eliminate some crime. For example, I am sure Marilyn Manson or Eminem did not put the guns into kids' hands and tell them to kill people in any of the school shootings. They did it on their own accord. They were looking for attention and got it, maybe mommy and daddy should have focused more on them than trying to out do the neighbors...
This is not about creation of a nanny state like mentality or government control, this is about trying to re-establish some level of accountability in parenting
Ninth, Gun Control.... I like guns.. a social liberal that likes guns, neat eh? If we take away guns from GOOD people, sadly the BAD ones will always have access to them. I am fully supportive of a background check in all ways: criminal, medical and physical. If you are not strong enough to hold a gun, then you need not have one. If you have severe depression issues, maybe you should not have cuz ya might just kill someone or yourself. If you have an extensive criminal record aside from parking tickets, speeding tickets, and you obviously suck at driving record, you need not have a gun. IE, if you have done time for auto theft, aggravated assault, things of that nature. No gun for you, get over it. I am not one to take guns away from RESPONSIBLE gun owners but that is that. I will take them from IRRESPONSIBLE gun owners. If ya wanna hunt for food great, if ya wanna protect your family; even better. Please do me a favor and not "sport hunt" it seriously depresses me :) I have fired many o' weapon and enjoyed it responsibly.... I know I am not the only one that can do that.....
Tenth: Immigration, I see no problem with legal immigration. None whatsoever, if some family wants to come here to provide better for their family, great but it must be done legally. Let's look at basic grammar, the first word in illegal immigration is that. ILLEGAL. Should not really have to many questions surrounding it. I want INS to go into full force with immediate deportations and birth rights of illegal immigrants' children revoked. Within 2 years they will all be gone. Period. The question of how to keep them all out is still up for discussion. I prefer an extremely long electric fence and if you come within 10 feet of it, you will know it. Very little to maintain other than electrical. It keeps the idea of maintaining a wall as a null and void issue.
Eleventh: Taxes. I believe in the fair tax plan. Pay for your own state and eliminate Federal Taxes... Seems fair to me.
Twelfth, Global Warming, I am an environmentalist who will enforce mandatory recycling programs and not only will I push for more fuel efficient cars and towards better energy resources ie.. WIND, SOLAR, NUCLEAR, AND HEMP for Petes' sake for them and for heating and cooling our homes BUT, I will push for other ideas to help aid the process. More electric friendly lightbulbs that use less energy for example. Call me a hippy, but I want the earth to be here for countless generations to come. I am not preaching global warming per se, but the earth is our home and I want it to look nice.
Thirteenth, I will categorize affirmative action, political correctness, and censorship all into one. A.) Get hired for your abilities, not your race or gender. Affirmative action is a nice way to candy coat and be PC about racism and sexism. Censorship needs to be a thing of the past. You do not like a show, a radio show, a song? CHANGE IT! Do not ruin for those who do like it. I hate the movie Ice Pirates but am I going to tell my friend who loves it that he is not allowed to watch it?? NO WAY, because I do not want that to backfire on me. Words are only as powerful as the meaning we as humans give them. Also, I would rather look at Janet Jackson's breast on TV than all the pictures of dead people from the war. Obscenity is in the eye of the judge and i prefer judging for myself.
Forteenth. Our shoddy at best education system. The “No Child Left Behind” act looked great on paper but let’s face it not every child learns the same way as the next and teaching a test is just plain wrong. Some kids learn based on visual, audio, a combination of audio/visual and others learn best by doing hands on work. So we need to revamp how we look at things. We need more teachers, in order to have smaller classrooms, with more one on one attention towards each student. As a mother of a child with asperger's syndrome, I feel that this is the best option. Teaching a test does not help them all in turn leaving all kids behind either from boredom or not being able to grasp their teachings given to them in the wrong way. We will be exploring new ways to educate and not leaving it as a black and white issue. In turn, schools will now be year round. Summer vacations, though fun and exciting are a deterrent. Keep them in year round and they will not have three months to forget what they have learned. With that we will allow for extended winter and spring breaks to two weeks in length maximum. As far as curriculum, we will no longer teach evolution or intelligent design. This will be done for two reasons
Lastly, kill me if ya like, BUT religion is coming out of everything. That being school, politics... EVERYTHING!!! The way I see it, is our forefathers came her came here to escape religious persecution from England. Now, if we are to honor our forefathers who we love so much, why in the blue **** are we going to persecute people for religious beliefs and force our beliefs on one another, if you honestly feel God needs to be involved in all the decision making, please go but a ticket back to England because in my eyes you are slapping our forefathers dead square in the face. My VERY distant cousin signed the Declaration of Independence and I choose to honor our forefathers in supporting what they did in leaving England. No, I am not bashing England either before anyone gets upset for no real reason.... I have British friends and DR WHO IS THE MAN!!!! Wanna go to church? Great, BUT DO NOT PUSH IT ON ME, I do not care if you are Christian, Jewish, Muslim or WHATEVER...
