In light of recent posts by certain candidates who wish to bitch, piss and moan about anything any other candidates attempt to do to make U4Prez a more enjoyable I felt it necessary to dig up my old toilet seat blog title to address it.
We all know and have known for quite some time that the runoff system was easily manipulated. 4 votes per IP address is what we are allowed. Some people took advantage of it with fake profiles and some did not. They were breaking no rules in doing so, they were within the rules of U4Prez. We have had many fake profiles gain access to runoffs and a few actually win them. Again, a bit over the top, yes. But not against the rules laid out by U4Prez. There also were highly publicized instances of actual vote cheating and they were handled when uncovered.
Then came "Votegate". A couple of candidates wanted to bring to light, in an extreme manner, how easy it was to manipulate the voting system on U4Prez. I 100% endorsed this method when it first took hold because I understood the point behind it. After a week of 100+ vote runoffs.......nothing changed. But the manipulation continued. This I didn't quite understand. You did it, it didn't work, what is the point of continuing it? But it happened. I would also like to state for the record that they broke no rules in doing so. Then came the 2009 GE.
The 2 candidates in question claim to have hand picked their opponents for the general election. How much truth lies in that statement I do not know. I do know that if I hadn't switched parties in mid-year that I would have won the nomination. If they manipulated it to get Erock there after that happened then fine, whatever. Back to the topic at hand. They claim to have continued their manipulation right up until the general election. Then the results came out and Erock and I won. The candidates in question claim that Mr. Gurr allowed votes from his created profiles to stand for Erock and I while wiping out votes for the Lucky/BD ticket. That may very well have happened. I don't know. What I do know is that it certainly wasn't asked for or done with the knowledge of Erock or I. That is besides the point and that point is:
What the hell did you expect was going to happen when you attempted to make the owner of the site look foolish with crazy runoff totals while calling him names all year long? If what you claim is true, he got pissed and beat you at your own game. Man up. He was better than you.
Secondly, why attempt to tear down everything that other candidates are trying to do to improve the site? Is it because your own attempt failed or is it because not only did it fail but to top it off Gurr was lying in wait to knock you off your pedestal during the GE?
It really doesn't matter why. What matters is that there are candidates on this site who are making legitimate attempts to make improvements. Yes it all depends on if Mr. Gurr is willing to spend a little. Some of it is also doesn't have a price tag attatched at all except for the time and effort certain candidates have put into it.
So why does that irk you so? You can claim all you want that Gurr won't do anything and that we are all idiots and you may be right. However it cannot hurt to try actually being diplomatic and working WITH him instead of calling him a jackass and making a bigger farce of his site through the runoff manipulation. It didn't work to well for you guys in the end. We are going to try another method.
If you don't like it, you are free to not participate. However the bitching and moaning about how the efforts of others are in vain is a bit pre-mature and a bit immature. I did not expect it from you at all and have been surprised at the hypocrisy of claiming all year to be fighting for the betterment of the site and then attempting to tear down other attempts just because yours failed.
If the site is dead as you claim the feel free to run along to other ventures. There are some of us who wish to stick it out and see if we can drive legitimate traffic to the site. you can actually help us if you wish. We would welcome any and all input that is positive and free of the bitching that has been happening since the GE. If you used that energy to try and make positive changes instead of manipulating the system maybe we wouldn't be having to do what we are doing now. But you can continue to bitch if you want while others continue to try and make U4Prez better. It's up to you. It's of no matter to us. We are going to go forward with it regardless of your opinion.
We choose to put the toilet seat down. You can choose to bitch about it being up. But that certainly isn't going to shut it.

BD - the only whining being done here is by you because Gurr beat your ass at your own game. You went around bragging that you would win for an entire year because you could manipulate the system and in the end he got pissed and ensured that didn't happen. The only thing we have complained about is your pissy moany hipocrisy about how we shouldn't accept winning under false pretenses. We are also attempting to bring issues to Gurrs attention by means other than manipulation. It may work, it may not. But we are doing it because it is still what everyone wants. You can bitch about us all you want and sulk that Gurr beat you in the end. We don't care and neither does anyone else on the site.

So instead of increasing the level of security on this site thru cookies, mac addresses, some sort of Active X control, he has ignored the problem. see, CAUSE LUCKY MYSELF, ERIC GURR, COPULATE, THE WIZ, AND DEMO discussed this issue directly with eric gurr. we had an open dialogue two years in a row and he came right out and said it. he "will not invest capital into the site until the site generates the capital to warrant the investment" (paraphrasing). so to all of you self absorbed morons who now remember these shows on the john and johnny shows can simply get bent. you will try once again and you will get nowhere, just like LC as president, what did she ever do, get a few more classifications under "independent". really, what is your goal as president and vice president? that was disgusting. faustus had the socialist U4prez constitution and LC had the goal of expanding the usership of U4prez. what happened, nothing, for every person that came here, one or more left. they both knowingly accepted an "elected" position thru ill gotten gains, the only difference between then and now is, Erock/Smashey were aided by the site creator as a ploy to defend his lack of effective policing of the site for three years. where faustus did it for a couple hundred bucks, and LC/RS did for it ego. and for the record smashey, i was withdrawn from the entire run off process for almost a years. so how could i remove myself from accepting what we told everyone was going to be a rigged election. seems there is no hypocracy, only the fact that everythingwe said was going to happen, would happen. sadly you were fully knowledgable of this immeadiately following the election last year when you me and lucky decided that no loser like eaqgle scout would be elected ever again... or are ou forgetting that?

I agree with the anonymous postings as well. It's funny that you think erock and I are showing our true colors by accepting the win because it was unfair when under that premise you shouldn't have even accepted a runoff victory because of your self proclaimed manipulation. You and BD are hypocrites. It was ok for you to openly manipulate the system but when Gurr did it you get pissed an whine like babies. LOL. I have said 100 times that unless Gurr decides to do something we can't do anything. That isn't the point, it's common knowledge. The point is the individuals perpetrating the manipulation get upset when others accept victory because of that very manipulation INCLUDING the 2 who were perpetrating it. If you and BD had said 'we refuse to accept these runoff victories and the the party nomination for the GE' then your argument would be valid. You didn't so it becomes hypocritical.

You and Erock have now shown your true colors by accepting a win in an election with a years worth of manipulated runoffs in order to win just as LC and RSobien were glad to accept an election under those circumstances. In my honest opinion no one should be President this year. Accepting the Presidency only validates that Gurr can get away with slacking the entire year and only validates the fact that manipulating the votes will get you somewhere. Eric Gurr has proven that when he wants to show up to his site in order to make sure things are fair it works. Blame BD and I all you want but at least we had the balls to make a point and I think we did a damn good job. By the way ... we don't worry about the toilet seat position because we piss standing up.
I have wrote zero blogs and zero bills about Gurr and I have only expressed my opinion about Eric Gurr needing to show up to his own site to fix the problems. Sure I have stated that Gurr has slacked off because he totally has. Hell, I thought this site was shut down forever a few weeks back when I came to the site and it was down the entire weekend and I got no response from Gurr when I tried to contact him about the site being down. You and Erock are now the heros of U4prez. Good luck getting Gurr to fix the problems. I am not going to complain about you trying to fix the problems but I do laugh at your attempts to do things that have already been done and didn't work. LC and RSobien accepted the President / VP spot last year after an entire year of messed up voting and acted like everything was cool so they could win but they didn't press Gurr on anything. You and everyone else knows the elections were not fair all year because Gurr didn't show up to check ip addresses. These finals prove that Gurr could have fixed the voting if he gave a shit. Sure ... it was really neat that he showed up to his own site the last week to prove us wrong ... however, the entire years election was already trashed. When we were voting 150 votes in a daily race he should have been wiping out the votes. Numerous attempts have been made by myself and others in trying to fix the system but we could not go on further without Gurr actually being involved. I know that both Icababe and I even volunteered to go Vote Only if we could get access to ip addresses so that we could contest votes. Nothing happened. We didn't ruin the site by blatantly voting up people in elections to prove a point ... he was ruining his own site by not giving a damn. BD and I were not the only candidates to cheat and to act like we were is plain stupid. I think Erock is about the only candidate who didn't do that in some form on this site and still he was the willing beneficiary. If Gurr chooses to let people make a mockery of his voting system ... .then that is Gurr's fault. I don't blame Gurr for showing up to the finals and making sure I didn't win because if I won that would only validate the fact that the entire years votes were screwed up which they were. We were waiting for Gurr all along to show up to his site and take control. I congratulate Gurr for showing up to his own site when he did and I hope that he continues to do that like he should have all along. If Gurr continues to monitor the votes the cheating will fall off and so I hope that he actually takes the time to do that so that when it comes to final election time we actually have a clear winner instead of having 3 candidates who 1 person selected in the finals and did it blatantly .... hoping to piss off Gurr so that he would show up. The major difference between what BD and I did was we actually pointed Gurr out on not showing up to his own site ... instead of kissing his ass which was already done in the past we were open and honest about manipulating the votes in hopes of bringing about a change unlike other candidates who were cheating and denying it just to win. I am sorry for pointing out that Gurr needs to show up and fix his shit but once again that is the truth. Try doing a search for truth using the U4prez search box and you will see what I mean about needing to fix shit on this site. The point is that you can't do shit about it. All these neat little forums and stuff are great about discussing what you would like to tell Gurr to do en masse. Go for it. I remind you the U4prez Constitution failed when we tried to pull everyone together to clean up the votes. We lacked the backing by Gurr. However, I would like to see Gurr say that he is interested in listening to our suggestions and that he actually cares about our feedback and that he will actually implement the suggestions brought forth. As we are all aware ... this site is owned by Gurr and unless Gurr wants to make changes we are shit out of luck. That is the bottom line. Numerous suggestions have been given already and all that needs to happen is implementing them. Literally hundreds of suggestions have been given already and numerous ways to fix the voting system have already been put forth. All these remain suggestions unless Gurr cares to implement them. So far I have not seen Gurr expressing interest in the system until he showed up to rig the finals himself (lol) in an attempt to take back power. That is what we wanted all along. I didn't care to win and that is exactly why I told you I was cheating and I posted that very picture you have on your blog on my profile just to let people know I was not a serious candidate and me being in the finals and selecting all three candidates should have been a clue that shit needs to be fixed. I think it was a bad idea for Erock to accept the Presidential nomination because it was not fair and blatantly so. I told you we did it all along but all the sudden its fair during the finals. You can accept the Presidency for all I care ...but we all know everyone was screwed this year by
Gurr's lack of attention to his own site. You can't blame BD and I because Gurr has proven that he can fix the voting system when he wants to show up. Where was he all year?
