Acceptance of Responsibility

Wow! I don't know what to say.

First of all, I must thank Matt for granting me this awesome responsibility. It is kind of ironic that, at one point, I was one of the many who were considering leaving this site because of the issues on here. To be in a position to help restore this site to credibility again is definitely a positive step in the right direction; and something I accept with much enthusiasm.

For those of you who have already stated your support for me; I only hope that I can earn the respect you have freely given. For those of you who still have doubts; I only ask for your patience to give me a chance to win your approval. Being that I am currently in a leadership position, in the real world, that requires me to be the consequence of others' actions, I am extremely confident that I can bring honesty and integrity to the position.

Additionally, I want to congratulate Icababe and Musicman on their assignments. I look forward to corroborating w/ them, as well as the U4Prez Development team, about the expectations of this site going forward. I also strongly and emphatically encourage Learning Comformity and RSobien, being that they represent the voice of the U4Prez Community as our elected leaders, to give me counsel as well.

As for my personal convictions for this position; I will be straight with all of you. This is a political website. It is meant to mirror our actual American political system. That being the case, I want to rest some uneasy perceptions about me by stating that, while my personal preference is that we discuss real issues from this site as well as real life, I must be willing to grant the same leniency for mudslinging that our actual political process allows. That being the case, those of you who are concerned can rest easy knowing that I am not going to run through this site like some sort of gunslinging cowboy firing off my delete buttons every time I see something I don't agree with. If and when I must act to moderate a post or discussion, I will always be open to discussing it with you privately. I am not the kind of person that will give you a "because I said so" type of answer. However, while I promise to listen to your side of the issue, whether or not my reasoning is sufficient for you is not a necessity. Being human beings, it is inevitable that we will disagree from time to time. My only hope is that you respect my promise to each of you that I will, to the best of my ability, seek to treat each of you fairly; and I will accept the responsibility, as well as the consequences, of my own actions.

I look forward to assisting all of the U4Prez Community in restoring integrity and fellowship to this site.

Thank you.

Arch.

congrats on the responsibility. i look forward to getting many things deleted. lol
Congrats, amigo :)
Gee, thanks guys. ???
By the way, this can be tied to U4Prez, it will not compete with U4Prez, in fact U4Prez might take the lead by offering a platform for potential presidential politicians.
I'm still looking for someone who has the know-how, to help me start an online-born political party, with voter registration integrity. The idea will be that everything, and I mean EVERYTHING will be done by consensus. The site is www.cparty.org and there is a short blurb about expectations. I'm just the idea man - I have alot of them, but I need a web-developer who can help get it started. All we need to start is a debate room. Can someone install a debate room, or chat room of you will on this site or give me a clue as to how to do it? Thanks.
I support Progress.
lol no kidding *rolls eyes*
"awesome responsibility" give me a break man. seriously- could your head get any bigger??
Lordy! It seems that having a delete button to get rid of inappropriate content has really gone to your head!.... "Expectations of the site going forward" and "restoring integrity and fellowship to this site"...... Moderation will not do this. A SECURE AND FAIR VOTING SYSTEM is the only thing that will bring any kind of integrity, and any hope for the future of this site.
