Thank You !

kempite
I would like to thank the members of the Academy for this honor….Oh, wrong venue. Forgive me. But seriously, Abraham Lincoln once said "What kills a skunk is the publicity it gives itself". As such I wish not to exaggerate the blog contest announcement but I would like to thank the administrators and editors of u4prez who judged the recent blog contest and deemed my blog worthy of first place honors.

I realize that this designation does not make any other view points articulated here any less valid or anyone else’s blog less worthy. There were many excellent entries posted. One of the most notable ones, in my opinion, came from Mduminiak and was entitled “Declaration of Principles and Proposed Policies”.

The determination made here was based on the narrow parameters of the criteria outlined in the rules of this particular contest and I feel fortunate to have met that criteria. For that I am quite appreciative.

My candidacy on u4prez and the opinions I express on it may be commended by some and criticized by many. Either way, it is all fair game and it is to be expected if one puts themselves out their.

Kempite may be a cyber candidate in a faux campaign but the opinions and values expressed by Kempite are actually the thoughts and beliefs of Anthony Del Pellegrino, a real person, effected by real issues, and I, Anthony Del Pellegrino, deal with those issues in many ways. My passion lies with the political promotion of an ideology that I believe translates into the best practical application of governance for our nation. Others who lay claim to the same beliefs as I, under the Republican banner, may interpret things differently but it is my interpretation which I choose to promote, not George Bush’s interpretation or John McCain’s, or any other individual Republican's interpretation. Only my own.

Along the way,in the real world and in various capacities, I have assisted the candidates and efforts which most closely relate to my interpretation of government’s application of the principles I believe in. The cumulative effect of my efforts will, hopefully, show their results with the passage of time. So, as time passes, I continue to state my case and work to advance the candidates and causes I believe in. It is my way of striving to leave my mark in my corner of the world and to, in the end, have lived a life that leaves things better for my having been here.

I suggest that we all continue to do that.

Continue to offer your opinion. Continue to be as persuasive as you can and as creative as you can and keep on making u4prez more than just a game but a place for the exchange of ideas and solutions that could someday help give birth to real solutions to our real life problems.

As for now, quite honestly, I am surprised to have won this contest. I did not expect this result. So I am truly thankful for the honor. That thanks goes to everyone on u4prez who shares a bit of themselves and their thoughts, and again, it goes to those behind u4prez, not just for the honor of winning their blog contest but for providing all of us with their platform for political dialogue and creativity.

Sincerely;
Kempite

P.S.: Please make sure the check for the prize money is made out to Anthony. Kempite likes the honor but Anthony could use the dough.
