Adding A New Dimension To U4prez

kempite
For about two years now, it has been the innovation of the general assembly of candidates on U4prez that has helped shape the functions of the site. Most of the influence has been implemented by its operators based on the natural flow that participants have directed. Some influences, such as the use of press releases and the creation of caucuses, originated from the actions of individual candidates.

Such growth of U4prez should continue and it is in that spirit that I am reaching out to the respective U4prez party leaders and the operators of the site to propose a weekly debate that consists of the three weekly runoff winners from the proceeding week.

If U4prez cannot at this time accommodate this weekly event due to time, staffing and or financial resources, this can be done without any time or financial investments from the U4prez parent company or its good creators and facilitators. If the three current designated party leaders are willing, they themselves could be the backbone of this new weekly feature.

These debates can take place on a caucus created for this weekly event and can be scheduled for either a set day of the week and time or an ever changing day and time that all qualified participants for each specific week agree to.

With the party leaders involvement, questions from the general community of candidates can be submitted to their respective party leaders or their designates. The party leaders could pick from these questions and ask their own during a 60 minute debate moderated by them, unless of course the operators of u4prez wish to sponsor this event themselves.

The time has come to give more meaning to the winning of a weekly runoff.

Whether it be Boo Boo the canary who whooped my butt in a recent runoff or a real candidate like SRobien, the three designated weekly runoff winners can face off and defend their political affiliation and their own policy directions. If fraud riddled results produce a debate with Boo Boo or the likes of any other fake or secondary profile than so be it. As candidates we must live with the runoff results that we fix. If we are interested in seeing the best and most innovative among us go head to head in scheduled debates than serious and legitimate voting may just take place.

But whatever the case, a legitimate and serious debate between the weekly winners of runoffs can only help to shed light on the issues and the eventual ultimate nominees of the respective U4prez parties.

I will be submitting a formal request to U4prez and the respective party leaders. That request will seek to initiate private discussion among themselves about making this weekly debate come to fruition. In the meantime if you agree with this concept and wish to see it happen contact your party leader with a private message and urge them to coordinate this feature. Then send a private message to the Uprez (Vote Only) profile as well. You can find the profile to send you message to at:

www.u4prez.com/ProfileView.aspx?UserID=34

If our representatives and the site operators see enough support and interest in this concept, it just might happen.

As a prominent representative of the Conservative Constitutionalist Movement, I think this is an excellent idea. It's actually too bad we can't have them debate before they win the runoffs.
i think this is a great idea. i do agree that the talk show avenue would probably work best.
like the Friday Night U4prez Fights, normally held at or around midnight eastern?
I agree the blogtalk format would be great. Easier to follow as well. Different speed connections could make a debate on a caucus diffcult.
I'm not a big fan of the caucus format debates. I'd rather this be done without the u4 admins and done on a blog radio program specifically created for that purpose and linked to a debate caucus so that people could find it, listen in or listen after the fact. It is just more interactive that way.
No hard feelings or direspect meant to to BooBoo, Hawk......just citing him as an example. I do agree with much of what has been said here and a process like this can only be as successful as participants want. As for Big's remarks, I understand that U4 itself may not be at the point where they can sponsor a regular weekly debate but that is why I have focussed on the party leaders leading that effort. Ultimately Smashey is right and the best possible hope for a tradition similiar to the one I propose is for individual weekly winners to take the initiative themselves. However, I make this proposal as described in order to establish a little more simplicity and regularity to the process.
Who says that the debate has to be an 'official' U4prez site administered event? What if 2 or more of the weekly winners just decided to pick a day and run with it? If we needed the backing of the site, half of the things that we have done on here would never have happened. I agree with most that if left to the site itself it will not materialize for economic reasons. There is nothing, however, stopping us from running with it ourselves.
I would like to make one thing clear. Boo Boo is not fake, he is real and he is interested in politics. He is also very cool and to be classified a fake profile I would have to hide the fact that he is my bird. I can't do that, everyone knows he is my bird. I was a little surprised that he beat Kempite the other day but that is how it goes on U4Prez, you win some you lose some. Me and my bird have alot of respect for kempite and vote for him in his runnoffs unles of cours it is against one of us. Anyway, I think there is to much weight given to the runoff proccess. This is really just for fun, the main reason we are here is to slam liberals..... oops I mean, discuss politics and the pressing issues of the day.
BooBoo would be most people here in a debate.
That and there will be a lack of support. Too many do not want their fake profiles pointed out. I support this idea, but I understand why it will not happen.
won't happen, primarily because of two reasons. this site does not generate the revenue required for them to allot the time necassary to develop such a feature. And the rn off system is flawed at best. pick a day and there can be an unlimited number of votes cast by one or more people. so any profile at any time can win, regardless of what happens in any debate.
