Imagine's flame out is not unexpected. Socialism is an impossible system to defend when forced to debate facts. It only has appeal through rhetoric and misdirection. A person who has made the mistake of believing in socialism and is awakened through debate that they have been duped into a philosophy utterly devoid of value is a person who is going to have to face a difficult choice: admit to being an idiot for ever advocating such a moronic system or retreat from reality in order to preserve the fiction their beliefs are based upon. Imagine chose the latter.
Plenty of people have left the site to come back. Me included. Imagine may have not had the ability to debate. He may not have answered any questions posed to him. He may not have been able to articulate his socialist stances. What he did do was give me plenty of ammunition and debate points. He will probably be back.

I hope, when Imagine grows up and enters the real world, gets a real job and has to pay his own bills he will realize that if you take responsibility for your life, work hard and obey the law, you can have a good life. I fear he will go to school, rack up thousands in school loans and be dependent on the federal government for the rest of his life. In other words, a burden to society. ....... So was he a liberal or was he a socialist? Or is it in fact true that liberals have swung far to the radical left that they are in fact socialists pushing forward the socialist agenda that they hate others calling socialism? As for Imagine89, he should live a happy and healthy life and hopefully as he grows up and enters the real world, he will discover that one can be a responsible American with compassion and empathy without a government authority legislating compassion and empathy. I tried to make my peace with Imagine89 and address our beliefs to one another with civility. I believe Imagine tried too but he failed to be able to keep to that commitment, perhaps due to his own frustrations. But one thing is for sure. Departing like a sore loser and bidding everyone a farewell with an “F You All” does leaves all with a bad taste in their mouth both for him and his cause. It also makes for a very unwelcome return when he can’t help himself and jumps back into the fray, as we have at some point.

Imagines rise and fall took alot of the heat away from Erock and his weird spin on politics. Erock had corrected himself for a brief moment in time. Now that Imagine is gone, Erock will probably be posting his crazy "We should have stayed out of WW2" articles again.

Not the enemy, just rare. With the exception of you (RSobien) and the occasional apearences of LC and FnG. Imagine was the only consistant liberal to be here every day for awhile.
Soclialism is not liberalism. And yes the type of liberalism that is coming from big government types is the enemy.
Imagines rhetoric was really old hat. Teaching liberals is like plugging a leaking hole in a dyke with only 10 fingers. They still leak and you gotta use your toes. Its frustrating work. They usually give up being punching bags. Then the cycle start over with some fresh loser. Going over the same old arguements again and again just to save one individual is pointless.

I am interested to see what the future of liberalism is going to be on this site. Things like this give me confidence in the ability of the conservative movement to hang on and win, yet we must look to the future now and not get caught up on this victory. We must be ready for the next day's challanges.

Arjay was 10 times better then Imagine. And I would add to that all we have now is FNG to defend Obama at least on a debating level.
Probably just as well anyway since I have a third class starting this Saturday, a huge mid-term on Tuesday, I'm teaching on Sunday and I'm still working full time. I probably should take some time off as well.
Well, I won't speak ill of the dead. I will miss Imagine and the socialist party not quite as much as I miss Arjay, but I will miss him. It's good to be challenged. Again, granted Imagine was not as much of a challenge as Arjay was, but it was a good opportunity to fine tune by beliefs and discover what arguments the fringe left is putting forward. I could always count on Imagine to let me know what the latest talking point was.
There are plenty here who have chosen not to deal with the site at one time or another. I've seen more than one grand exit by several who are still here.
